Dara Christante, MD

About

“I enjoy the privilege of being involved in patients’ lives as their physician – a role that involves compassion, expertise and teamwork. My goal is to provide excellent, individualized care and always communicate clearly with patients and their other providers.” Dara Christante is a board certified Colon & Rectal Surgeon. She graduated from medical school at the University of Texas with academic honors in 2004. She completed her surgical training at Oregon Health & Sciences University, spending additional years during residency participating in cancer research. Dr. Christante completed subspecialty training at the University of Minnesota Colon & Rectal Surgery Fellowship Program. Her practice includes all elements of the subspecialty: management of cancers of the colon, rectum and anus, colorectal polyps, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, and anorectal conditions as well. She also treats patients with pelvic floor disorders such as fecal incontinence and rectal prolapse. She is dedicated to the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques like laparoscopy and robotic surgery when appropriate for patients. She is actively involved in quality improvement projects, clinical research and medical student education. Dr. Christante sees patients at our central Cataldo and North Nevada Clinic locations. She is an active staff physician at Sacred Heart Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, and Deaconess Hospital.
